Sinopsis:
Kim Sun-Ja lahir dan besar di Busan, Korea, ketika Korea berada di bawah kekuasaan Jepang. Dia jatuh cinta dengan seorang pria bernama Koh Han-Su. Ketika dia mengetahui bahwa Koh Han-Su menikah dengan wanita lain, dia sudah hamil. Dia hancur oleh situasinya. Seorang pendeta gereja bernama Baek Isak menyelamatkannya dengan menikahinya. Dia dan Baek Isak kemudian pindah ke Jepang. Di sana, dia melahirkan anaknya. Kehidupan orang Korea yang tinggal di Jepang saat itu tidaklah mudah. Karena mereka kadang-kadang mengalami penghinaan dan diskriminasi, mereka berjuang untuk bertahan hidup.
